Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive In Bangkok:

Sa-wat dee! Welcome to Thailand.

Thailand's bustling capital, Bangkok is famous for its tuk-tuks, khlong boats and street vendors serving up delicious Thai food. Bangkok has so much to offer those with time to explore, so perhaps arrive a day or so early and wander down the tourist mecca of Khao San Road or indulge in some Thai massage.

Tonight, why not get some of your newfound travel pals together for a street food crawl.

Day 2

Bangkok City Tours:

Start the day with a one-hour river cruise down the Chao Phraya River to explore the famous ‘khlongs’, or canals. Life along these canals seems a world away from the chaotic streets of the capital. Pay a visit to Wat Pho, one of the ‘trinity’ of Bangkok temples, with a 46-metre long gold plated Buddha reclining inside. Even the feet of this statue are incredible, three metres long and intricately decorated with mother of pearl. The temple grounds are equally fascinating, filled with beautifully decorated stupas, halls and shrines.

Then continue to The Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The sprawling royal complex houses numerous ornate structures that highlight the grand architectural traditions of Thailand.

Day 3

Bangkok Day of Leisure:

All day at leisure. Here you can do as you wish.

Explore the streets of Bangkok one last time or have a lazy morning before getting an in-house massage and a swim in the pool.

Day 4

Bangkok to Siem Reap:

Transfer from hotel to airport with driver only for flight departure to Siem Reap.

Sua s'dei! Welcome to Cambodia. The small but expanding town of Siem Reap is the gateway to Angkor. This is the most popular destination for travellers in all of Cambodia, perhaps even in South-East Asia.

Upon arrival at Siem Reap airport by flight, you will be welcomed by local English-speaking guide who will escort you directly to hotel and enjoy the rest of day relaxing. Tonight, after dinner (Own Account) you will visit Phare Ponleu Selpak, the Cambodian Circus.

Coming from vulnerable households, the performers have gained international recognition through their art and skill. Like a Cambodian Cirque Du Soleil, modern Khmer tales mix theatre, music, dance, acrobatics, juggling, aerial acts, and contortion for a spectacular and memorable show.

Day 5

Siem Reap: A Full Adventure:

Start your journey after breakfast by passing through the local village and observe how the locals live. Upon reaching the lake inlet, board a private wooden boat from Kampong Phluk’s pier to visit the floating village on Tonle Sap Lake. As you cruise through the canal of Kampong Phluk, you will be mesmerized by the unique and authentic Cambodian village on the lake. During the cruise, you will come across administrative offices, schools, houses on stilts rising up to 7 meters, and a Buddhist pagoda at the edge of the village. Take a short break and hop on a rowboat to explore the flooded forest, where you can enjoy paddling beneath shady trees and feel the romantic atmosphere.

Return to the boat and cruise downstream onto the great lake of Tonle Sap, where you will get a close-up view of the submerged forest and take in the breathtaking scenery of the seemingly endless water surface. This excursion to the village is a unique experience that exposes you to the daily hardships and tribulations faced by the locals. It is a window into the realities of Cambodian life and helps you understand the complexities of life on the lake.

After the excursion, have lunch at Bakong Phum Knhom.

Before returning to Siem Reap, visit the Roluos Group, the site of an ancient center of Khmer civilization known as Hariharalaya. It was the first town built by the Angkorian kings in the 8th and 9th century and consists of three main temples: Bakong, Lolei, and Preah Ko. The surrounding countryside with its paddy fields and sugar palm trees is typical of Cambodia. In the contemporary Roluos Pagoda near the monuments, Buddhist monks will celebrate a private blessing ceremony for you, wishing you health and a safe journey – a very special experience!

Tonight, a special dinner with a traditional Apsara Dance Show at Apsara Theatre where you will enjoy stunningly dressed dancers bringing to life the epic tales of the Royal Court as well as the country dances favored by peasants with tradition music.

The memories of seeing some of the world’s most important ancient sites are ones you’re going to want to preserve forever, so for the first half of the day you will also be accompanied by a private photography coach who will teach you how to take that one-in-a-million shot.

Begin at Angkor Wat, the largest and most complete structure, and the only one of Angkor's temples that has its entrance facing west – the others face east.

Your leader will let you in on the secrets of the temples and share their remarkable stories. Also, visit Ta Prohm temple. On the way back, visit the Landmine Museum, which Akira moved to a new location inside Angkor National Park near Banteay Srey Temple. The museum comprises four galleries and is also home to 27 children with pitiful fates. Here, travelers can see remnants of the war and hear the true story of Akira and the Cambodians during that time.

During the visit, you will have the opportunity to stop at local communities and interact with them to learn about their way of life. You can witness how the locals produce the seasonal popular local produce of sugar palm and even have a taste.

In the afternoon, explore Preah Khan, a temple with spectacular trees and roots overtaking the ancient structures. Admire the delicate carvings and don't miss the only two-story construction in Angkor standing on high columns. Your knowledgeable guide will lead you through the temple grounds before continuing to Neak Pean, constructed around the same time. This temple is essentially an island in the center of the Northern Baray, and in the wet season, the scene is especially impressive with a long raised wooden causeway leading to the temple surrounded by water and submerged tree trunks. This is a full-day tour that allows plenty of time for exploration and asking questions.

Tonight, enjoy dinner at Lum Orng, Cambodia's first farm-to-table restaurant. Essential Information

Visas:

If entering Cambodia by air, most nationalities will be granted a 30-day stay on arrival without needing a visa.

If you have a UK or US passport, you do not need a visa to enter Cambodia. You can stay for up to 30 days if arriving by air or up to 15 days if arriving by land.

This is referred to as a visa exemption. Upon arrival, you may be required to present your return ticket and complete a landing card.

If you plan to stay longer than 30 days, you must apply for a visa before traveling to Cambodia. It's important to avoid overstaying, as doing so may result in fines or detention. Double-check your departure date to ensure compliance. Please note that visa extensions can be obtained in Cambodia at any immigration office for a fee of approximately 2000THB. We recommend verifying the latest entry requirements by consulting your national foreign travel office. For UK citizens, this information can be found in the Foreign Travel Advice section of https://www.gov.uk.

If you intend to enter Cambodia multiple times via land borders during your travels, it is advisable to obtain a 60-day multiple entry visa from your embassy or consulate before you travel. This is preferable to attempting to obtain a visa at the border on multiple occasions, as it may lead to being denied re-entry into the country.

For the most up-to-date information on visa requirements, we suggest contacting the Cambodian embassy in your country. You can find more information at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/cambodia.
